Best ever Moto GP result for Hopkins
Rizla Suzuki Moto GP star John Hopkins roared to his best finish of the season, finishing fourth at the Polini Grand Prix of China last weekend. He attributed much of his success to his Bridgestone tyres.
Heavy rain made qualifying a tough battle but Ducati Corse Team's Loris Capirossi, and John Hopkins still managed to put their Bridgestone shod machines on the front row. They were only beaten to pole position by reigning World Champion, Valentino Rossi.
Hopkins asked everything of his machine and Bridgestone tyres. His uncompromising riding style was demonstrated in his final lap of qualifying and the correct combination of tyres and bike set-up gave him the confidence required for the race itself.
"The Bridgestone tyres worked awesome today," he said. "I reckon I had a bit more edge-grip than Colin, and they were still working well at the end of the race."
Paul Denning - Team Manager:
"I must thank Bridgestone; they responded fantastically after the last race and the tyres we have had here have been superb - both wet and dry".
All Bridgestone race-developed technology impacts directly on their road tyres. Very few people are aware that pound for pound Bridgestone invest a vast amount more in the development of motorcycle tyre design and development that they do in Formula 1...!
