Race Spec, established some 20-odd years ago as a motocross mail-order specialist, is branching out into the mountain bike scene. To celebrate its new venture the company will hold an open day this Saturday 3rd December at its extended showroom in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. The new cycle shop will be opened by 2011 World Downhill Mountain Bike Champion, Danny Hart, who proved to be so popular with visitors at the recent International Dirt Bike Show.

Naturally, with its roots firmly planted in motocross, Race Spec has also secured appearances from a number of top racers and flying the flag for the crossers will be Neville Bradshaw, Jordan Booker, Lewis Gregory, Luke Hawkins and Liam Garland, amongst others.

The first 50 customers through the doors, which open at 9am, will receive a Thor MX Beanie, and anyone spending over £10 in a single transaction will receive a £10 Race Spec gift voucher, which will, of course, be subject to a few simple terms and conditions. Visitors can also take advantage of free membership to Club Race Spec, which normally costs £10 and provides a long list of cash-saving benefits.

Expect to find special offers, free food, tea and coffee, competitions and prizes, including Thor MX kit, Michelin tyres, Pro Clean, Smith goggles, Troy Lee hoody, Fro Balance band, Troy Lee gloves, Troy Lee DH3 helmet, Thor MX beanie and Fish for Goggles (kids only). There'll be plenty of brand representatives on hand too, with Michelin, Go-Pro, Leatt, Thor, Troy Lee, Alpinestars, Fly Racing, EVS, Apico, RaceFX, Madison, Smith Optics and Fro Systems personnel on hand to help out and answer questions.

Danny Butler, the European and five-time British Trials Champion, who was also in great demand at the Dirt Bike Show, will be giving three Extreme Mountain Bike Show performances at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
Race Spec is two minutes from junction 9 on the M5. Set your destination postcode to GL20 8SF, or call 01684 299699 for easy directions.
