With the 24th annual Weston Beach Race just under five months away RHL activities has emphasised its goal of raising the standards both on and off the beach by appointing a new member of the management team.
Phil Regan has been appointed as Corporate Manager with a brief to oversee all off-track aspects of the beach race, and apply his event management skills to future expansion plans, including a host of new events. Phil joins the RHL team after many years with North Somerset Council, where he was the Seafront and Event manager and has worked closely with the beach race for the last eight years. His experience working with large events in Weston, such as the Radio 1 Roadshow, National WaterSki Championships, and T4 Music Festival gives him an unrivalled background when it comes to organising top-class public events.
Gareth Hockey and Phil Roberts of RHL recognised a long time ago that with the changing and ever-more demanding legislation, both within licensing and health and safety, together with traffic management, in order for them to continue raising the profile of off road motorcycle events, they needed to secure a person with a proven track record in event management.
Announcing the appointment, Gareth Hockey said, "This addition to the team means we now have a combined wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise amounting to over 75 years. We feel sure that Phil will be a major asset to the company and will play a significant part in driving the company forward as we look to expand our portfolio of events in 2007 and beyond."
On taking up his new position Phil Regan said, " I am delighted to have been offered this opportunity and look forward to making certain that the company strategies achieve, or exceed the planned developments over the coming years"
