Despite the dawdling pace of the economy, motorcycle industry web suppliers DealerWebs crowned a remarkably successful 2011 by winning the title Best Small Business, in its home region.

Hundreds of companies made entries for the annual Business Awards organised by the Derbyshire Times Group, both from within DealerWebs' home town of Chesterfield and throughout the county. However, after initial written submissions and then a thorough grilling of the finalists by the panel of five judges, DealerWebs took the title.

The award ceremony was held at Chesterfield's brand new B2Net Stadium, and the judges commented that the factors which had won the award for DealerWebs were the use of advanced online technologies, an obvious depth of knowledge of its chosen markets, and the remarkable level of penetration into those markets over the last three years.

"I must admit," said DealerWebs' MD Matt Bradshaw, "we usually focus on trying to impress customers, rather than our local business community, but this was a very welcome recognition from our peers of our small team's level of achievement.

"The fact that we had won preferred supplier status from such giants as Triumph and Harley-Davidson clearly impressed the panel of judges and demonstrated our ability to use technology to win a higher level and quality of business, which, as it happens, is exactly what we do for our own customers."
