New online incorporation service from Companies House allows businesses to make use of a simple new service to incorporate a private company, limited by shares, with model articles of association.

Easy to use and straightforward
To use the service, it is necessary to first register with an email address and a password chosen by the applicant.

The following information is then required to complete the form:

• company name and address

• details of directors and secretary (optional)

• details of each shareholder and the value of their shares

• payment details (there is a fee of £18 for this service)

Step by step guidance is on offer throughout the questionnaire. Answers can be saved and the form re-visited should the applicant wish to return and complete the process later, although the company name will not be reserved.

A summary of the information entered is shown at the end of each section and on completion of the form, thus enabling the applicant to review and amend any information before finally submitting the application form.

An incomplete application will be deleted from the system three months from the date it was first registered. If another application is requested then the data from the original application will be lost.
