BIKERS AND QUADDERS BEAT THE RAIN
May 10 2012.

When it comes to a good old-fashioned gathering, it seems that even the unseasonal spring-time weather can't keep the UK's bikers and quadders away.

After a month of almost permanent downpours, Hastings finally saw some sun on May Day, Monday 7 May, and, according to the organiser, it brought bikers out in their tens of thousands.

Early estimates indicate that over 20,000 bikers attended the Bike1066 Spring Opener event and around a hundred quads formed a cavalcade along the seafront and through the crowded main exhibition area, bringing the town centre to a standstill.

The massive turnout of bikers and locals benefitted charities, with Spinal Research and Hein Gericke raising over a thousand pounds.
