NEW DATE FOR HSE COST RECOVERY SCHEME
May 11 2012.

The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has announced that its cost recovery scheme, Fee for Intervention (FFI), is going ahead, but the likely start date is October 2012.

FFI sets out to recover costs, from those who break health and safety laws, for the time and effort the HSE spends on investigating and taking enforcement action. Those with no interaction with the HSE will not be charged.

Detailed guidance for employers and organisations will be available on HSE's website ahead of implementation.

In the meantime, a pilot of the new processes and procedures underpinning the scheme is already underway and will continue until the scheme is implemented.
