The International Dirt Bike Show 2012 - Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. November 1st to 4th 2012

Plans are well under way for the 2012 International Dirt Bike Show at Stoneleigh Park this November, with major manufacturers confirming their involvement at Europe's biggest, and the UK's only, off-road exhibition.

Last year's Show proved to be one of the most successful and best-attended for many years with over 22,000 enthusiasts cramming the four Show halls over a four-day period. The combination of international and UK visitors and celebrities from a variety of sporting disciplines, coupled with product and team launches, vibrant exhibitor stands, constant on-stage entertainment, and the noise of visitors enjoying themselves on the free-of-charge activities all added to the family carnival atmosphere.

The early big news for this year is that Honda UK is back at the Dirt Bike Show in its own right, with a large display of its latest off-road and competition machinery. With it comes the Honda - My First Licence, where 5 to11-year-olds can have a supervised go on Honda mini-bikes free of charge. Simon Herbert, Manager - Sales Planning at Honda (UK) commented: "We're delighted to return to the Dirt Bike Show and in doing so highlight our renewed efforts in the off-road market and our increased commitment to off-road motorcycle sport. We have some really exciting things happening in 2012, including the launch of completely revised new models and some very special, special editions. We appointed three-time world champion, Dave Thorpe, to manage our British Championship official racing effort towards the end of last year and Dave has also done some great work as an ambassador for Honda in championing our youth racing activity and our initiative to develop young riders through our academies. Dave Thorpe and the Buildbase Honda squad, including riders Nico Aubin and Jordan Booker will be making an appearance at what promises to be a great show."

Honda joins long-term Show supporter, and current MX1 and MX2 World Championship leader KTM, together with its stable-mate brand Husaberg; and Kawasaki has confirmed it will again exhibit with its new 2013 model line-up.

Of course, one of the contributing factors that went into making the 2011 event such a massive success and pull for UK dirt bike devotees was the number of international and home-grown racing stars and celebrities who graced the Stoneleigh Park grounds last November. Jeff Herlings, Tommy Searle, Clement Desalle, Nicholas Aubin, Marc De Ruever, Stephen Sword, Kevin Strijbos, Martin Barr were just some of the top-line motocrossers taking time out to meet fans during the period of the Show, with many high-profile road racers in attendance too. World Downhill Mountain Bike champion Danny Hart wowed visitors with his display of skill, dexterity and speed on an engine-free two-wheeler, and world renowned dirt and tarmac television commentator Jack Burnicle kept the stage activities rolling.

All in all, the 2011 Dirt Bike Show was deemed an ultra-success and the organiser Promoto is now pulling out all the stops to take another leap forward with the 2012 exhibition.
