When the INTERMOT motorcycle, scooter and bicycle trade fair opens its doors from 3rd to 7th October 2012, the public in Cologne can once again enjoy a special feast for the eyes. INTERMOT will present an exhibition of the 50 best pictures entered in the "Motorcycle Worlds" photography competition to a broad and interested public.

Past INTERMOT photography competitions have already bridged these two timeless and highly emotional themes — motorcycles and photography. In order to give this dual fascination an even bigger platform and make it even more dynamic, this year's competition will be a joint project of INTERMOT Cologne, photokina and

INTERMOT is looking for images that — in a new twist for 2012 — do not have to be from any particular category. There is one requirement, of course: the images must be related to motorcycles or scooters. It doesn't matter if you're a professional photographer, an amateur or someone who just takes the occasional picture — "Motorcycle Worlds" is looking for creativity, a good eye for pictures and, above all, an image that is a personal expression. Technology, sports, people, travelling, emotions and digital art are all possible subjects. After all, the motorcycle is a theme that stands for virtually unlimited freedom.

The conditions of entry can be found at under the heading "Fotowettbewerbe" (photo contests). Participants in the competition can upload as many as three pictures and look over all the works that have been submitted in the online gallery.

The overall winner will receive an Allo 50 scooter from SYM, while the runner-up will receive an SFM Beast pedelec. The third-place will receive a high-quality Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD lens, and the fourth-place will enjoy a motorcycle trip in Portugal from Suzuki. The participants who submitted the other top photographs will also be rewarded, receiving additional Tamron lenses, an X-Lite X-802 helmet, or a Pro-Digital photo tank bag from TOURATECH.

The 50 best photographs will not only be on display at INTERMOT Cologne but will also be part of the photokina trade fair, which will also take place in Cologne and run from 18th to 23rd September. photokina, the world's most important photography trade fair, should in itself be more than enough of an incentive for the dedicated photographer.

The competition is now open. The deadline for submitting entries is 26th August 2012.
