AUGUST 2012 NEW REGISTRATIONS SUMMARY

The Motorcycle Industry Association new registration statistics for the reporting period August 1 to August 31 2012 are now available and show a modest increase in total registrations of 0.9 per cent year-to-date. Total mopeds are down 7.1 per cent, whilst total motorcycles are up 2.3 per cent.

Honda remains at the top of the manufacturer league table with 1,088 registrations for the period. Its CBF125M is still the highest selling motorcycle, topping the 'naked' and 51-125cc sectors with 211 for the month. Over in the moped charts, the Peugeot V Clic 50 was the top-selling scooter with a return of 99 units.

The Motorcycle Trader blue sheet, carrying the full statistics, will be distributed tomorrow. In summary, the total registrations are;
