JAPANESE PRODUCTION AND EXPORTS DOWN IN JANUARY
February 28 2013.

Japanese motorcycle production and exports fell again in January 2013 according to figures released today by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association.

Total production was 49,030 units, down 11,926 units, or 19.6% against January 2013. Total exports were 37,506 units, down 8,143 units, or 17.8% against January 2012.

In the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association charts below, (click to enlarge), Suzuki appears to have reversed its negative trend, for the month at least, while Kawasaki was hit by the largest fall in production and exports.

Obviously this is a one-month snapshot and month-to-month changes are to be expected.
