March 4 2013.

The March 2013 issue of Motorcycle Trader magazine is out now and the digital page-turning version is also now live at

A packed News section includes a Business & Finance overview as well as the usual news and views from home and abroad. Trader's unique and comprehensive Business Journal this month covers the subject of longevity and how to plan for retirement as well how best to deal with fraud.

Sean Kerr's insight into the Chinese motorcycle continues with a report on how motorcycle output and sales plummeted in 2012. Such was the extent of its decline that the Chinese government dramatically described it as "walking on thin ice, and in great difficulty". The market was dismal, sales were falling, and motorcycle output and sales were slumping. Sales in some areas of China experienced declines of 50 per cent year on year, setting an historic low. However, the output and domestic sales of motor-tricycles enjoyed a steady increase in 2012. Motor-tricycles are used as both transport and production tools in China as they designed to be used as passenger and freight transports. Their practicality is greatly favoured by Chinese farmers and private small business owners in towns.
