R&G COVERS AMERICA
April 25 2013.

R&G's Engine Case Covers have now been approved by the American Motorcycling Association (AMA) for use in any competition sanctioned by the organisation.

The R&G ECCs bolt on top of the existing and expensive engine covers to act as a strong and hard-wearing shield without requiring the draining of any bike fluids or specialist tools to fit. Though offering protection is paramount, with racing in mind the covers are ultra-lightweight and offer the maximum ground clearance of any similar product on the market.

The AMA approval means that racers and teams running in events and championships under its banner can now have the security of using a product that is already heavily put to the test by many teams competing in World Endurance as well as the official Yamaha Australian Superbike team. The California Superbike School and the Chris Walker Race School (UK) rely on these products heavily, as do scores of road riders and trackday enthusiasts, making use of the diverse150-fitment applications available.

R&G Sales Director, Simon Hughes, said of the approval: "The AMA sanctions more motorsports competition events than any other organisation in the world and their approval of the R&G Engine Case Covers is testament to a product that we're very proud of and that our customers trust and reap the benefits of fitting."

The world leader in motorcycle protection products launched its British-made Engine Case Covers in 2010 after a full season of track and bench testing; showing them to consistently outperform carbon/Kevlar equivalents. The ECCs are constructed from a special polypropylene, strong enough to absorb impacts but also hard wearing if a bike is sliding.

The use of R&G Engine Case Covers not only saves hundreds of pounds when compared to replacing original items, but can make the difference between a bike being able to be ridden or raced after a crash and preventing dangerous oil leaks on the road or track.

The ECC fitments include crankcase covers, starter/generator covers, oil-pump housing covers and dry and wet clutch covers. For some bikes, 'ECC Kits' are available - offering an overall saving of more than 10% when compared to buying the items individually.

R&G is currently also seeking FIM approval for racing, as it appears that its criteria are easily exceeded with this product.
