Just four weeks after the first presentation of KTM's E-Scooter at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show, the E-SPEED made its first appearance in Europe when it was shown to the domestic market at the Bike-Austria Exhibition - in Tulln, Austria.

Harald Plöckinger (KTM Executive Board Member for Production and Business Development): "We believe in electromobility on two wheels. Because off-road sport is our core area, we have developed an E-Crosser, the Freeride E, but we are convinced that electric mobility can succeed in urban areas. Because of the very positive feedback following the Tokyo presentation, we have decided to transfer the results from the development of the E-Cross bike into the road segment. The ESPEED is our interpretation of emission-free propulsion for city use, but without compromising on the design and sportiness of our KTM genes. "

The goal is to develop the E-SPEED concept into a series production model by 2015. Literally speaking, KTM has spent a lot of energy developing a completely new drive system for the Freeride E. Now this can be utilised in the very sporty looking scooter.
