Benfield Toyota Wakefield made it a hat-trick of titles in the 5-a-side Football Tournament played annually in aid of BEN, the automotive industry charity. Despite the best efforts of 12 other teams the side from Yorkshire made it three championships in a row, but not before a tense penalty shoot-out against GKN New Boys in the final.

In the Plate final Avis rent-a-car beat Valeo Service in an epic penalty shoot-out. Commiserations to Valeo who went out on penalties for the second consecutive year.

The popular 5-a-side football tournament is just one of many fundraising events organised by BEN each year with the express objective of raising awareness, involving the motor industry and contributing towards the operational costs of the charity which supports thousands of automotive people every year. Speaking after the event held at Goals Star City, Birmingham on June 9th, Warren Neal, Events & Exhibitions Co-ordinator at BEN commented: 'If this was the World Cup, Benfield Toyota Wakefield would own the trophy outright. Thanks to all of the teams for taking part this year, we had great weather and great football so all in all a great day. Looking forward to next year's competition, one team have already asked me to exclude Wakefield from the invite list!
