MINI BIKE ACTION AT INTERNATIONAL DIRT BIKE SHOW
September 9 2013.

UK Superlites Series Finale at Stoneleigh Park

It'll be a case of lights, camera and action at the 2013 International Dirt Bike Show which runs from Thursday 31st October through to Sunday 3rd November 2013. Rounds three and four of the all-action UK Superlite Series will be taking place over the weekend of the Show -within the actual show halls, and the event will be filmed for future screening on Motors TV.

Having filmed the UK Mini Bike Champs for his production company PM Action Sports, the series organiser, Paul Minihane, of RPM Events, recognised the potential of the sport and decided to run a four-round series as an extension to the existing championship. "The International Dirt Bike Show will present us with a terrific opportunity to raise awareness of this sector of motorsport, which is already massive in Europe and America," explained Minihane. "There has been a resurgence of interest in pit/mini bike racing and we want to demonstrate to off-road enthusiasts just how big it is and just what the riders and machines can achieve."

The first two rounds will be held at Pontrillas before the series heads to the Show at Stoneleigh Park with four classes of 88cc Superminis, Stock Mod - up to 125cc, Veterans - open up to 160c and Pro Superlites - up to 160cc. The organiser anticipates that around 100 riders will compete in the event, with three qualifying heats per class running throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday, followed by the main super final events from 3pm onwards.

Dirt Bike Show organiser Nick Mowbray added: "This is a really exciting development for the Show. From visitor feedback, we know that live action is a popular part of the show experience, and so we're having a purpose-built supercross-style circuit that will include plenty of woops, jumps and berms, and we're told to expect lots of action and full contact racing from some of the fastest mini bike riders from across Europe. We can't wait."

To give visitors a taste for action, professional racers will put on demonstration races on the Thursday and Friday of the Show. The series is open to club riders, aged 14 and over and a prize giving will take place on Sunday afternoon, 3rd November 2013, in the action-packed hall four of the International Dirt Bike Show.
