Öhlins and Samsung Honda’s Alex Lowes secured the 2013 MCE British Superbike Championship yesterday, giving the Swedish suspension company its fifteenth ‘BSB’ title in just eighteen seasons.

A nail-biting Brands Hatch final race saw the Öhlins shod Honda Fireblade of Lowes claim the British Superbike title over rival Shane Byrne in front of a huge, weather beaten but enthralled crowd.

Once again, the majority of the 2013 Superbike grid used the gold and yellow units, including the Samsung Honda team, the Tyco Suzuki duo of Josh Brookes and PJ Jacobson and the Milwaukee Yamaha squad of James Ellison and Tommy Bridewell to create a formidable line-up of riders and bikes looking to utilise Öhlins’ vast racing experience.

Winning sixteen races this season, courtesy of Lowes, Brookes and Ellison, Öhlins once again demonstrated its racing pedigree, including taking a triple win at Brands Hatch in the final round.
