The November 2013 year-to-date comparisons for new registrations by style have been released by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA).

Motorcycle Trader’s ‘at a glance’ blue sheet summary will be issued tomorrow, however, in outline;

Total registrations are down by 2.4 per cent, with total scooters down by 10.7 per cent and motorcycles (excluding scooters) up by 2.1 per cent.

Four motorcycle sectors – Adventure Sport, Custom, Naked and Touring - showed year-on-year improvement with Touring headlining on the positive front with an increase of 27.7 per cent.

New registrations by engine band showed the 126cc – 650cc capacity group most improved with 15.1 per cent growth, whilst the lowest capacity range of up to 50cc declined by 20.3 per cent.

Honda remained as top manufacturer with around 1000 registrations in the month of November. It also triumphed in the highest registering model stakes with the CBF125M recording 147 units registered. The highest registering scooter was the Pulse Scout with 46 units.
