An exclusive performance by the cast of ‘LET IT BE’ and extraordinary auction items encouraged leading figures from the automotive industry to show real generosity in aid of their charity at the annual BEN Ball last night.

The Main Auction items attracted keen interest and featured a Jaguar F-Type, a Kawasaki J300, four tickets to One Direction at Wembley, two Champions League tickets, a Ferrari Factory Tour and an 18-seat private box at the O2 to see Taylor Swift. Bidding for the Jaguar F-Type, kindly donated by Jaguar Land Rover, was hotly contested and raised £85,500.

While guests enjoyed a lavish four course dinner they participated in a Silent Auction with an extensive range of donated lots. The ability to bid electronically from each table encouraged healthy competition, solving Christmas present dilemmas for the successful bidders. Lots included; an aerobatic flying experience, £1,000 Boodles jewellery voucher, golf with football legend Kevin Keegan, a dance with former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ winner Tom Chambers, and a range of state-of-the-art technology such as an iPad Air, iPhone 5S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

David Main, BEN’s chief executive, commented: ‘The BEN Ball is the highlight of our year and a very special night for all concerned. We are so fortunate to have such a committed group of businesses and individuals who give generously of their time and money to ensure that BEN, the automotive industry charity, is able to support those less fortunate in our industry. I want to thank everyone who attended and who contributed to the success of the evening, and the team that worked so hard to pull the event together.’
