OWEN REPLACES INJURED JOHNSON ON LIGHTWEIGHT TT CFMOTO WK650i
June 5 2014.

TT veteran Paul Owen is to take the place of the injured Gary Johnson aboard the CFMOTO Team WK650i in tomorrow’s Lightweight TT race.

Johnson had been bang on form at the TT this week, winning the first Supersport race on Monday and then well in contention in Tuesday’s Superstock race when he crashed, breaking a collarbone and injuring his shoulder and hand.

With no chance of making the Lightweight race, Johnson suggested Owen as a replacement and filled him in on how to get the best from the rapidly developing CFMOTO Team WK650i racer.

With a lack of practice on the machine, Owen is being allowed to start from the back of the grid, but is hopeful that he can build towards a fast lap and a good finish for the Chinese factory backed team.
