TRADE WITH INDIA TO BE MADE EASIER
July 10 2014.

The CBI has commented on the budget announced by Indian Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley.

Simon Moore, CBI International Director, said: “As the Chancellor and the Foreign Secretary’s visit this week has shown, the United Kingdom’s trading partnership with India, which is vitally important to our future growth and prosperity, is undergoing a renaissance.

“There’s no doubt that boosting UK exports to high-growth markets is critical to a balanced and sustainable recovery. Today’s Budget, and reforms, should give British businesses further confidence that Mr. Modi intends to deliver on making India an open environment in which to trade and invest.

“UK exports to India have increased significantly over the last few years, and we now have a great opportunity for even more companies from both countries to build the trading links that will drive the recovery into the fast lane.”
