February 9 2015.

In an historic move for the company, Oxford Products has signed Michael Laverty as its first ever head-to-toe sponsored rider in the British Superbikes Championship. Most significantly, Michael will be wearing Oxford branded race leathers and gloves. These are not only Oxford’s first leathers to feature in BSB, they are the company’s first leathers, full stop!

As part of the single largest investment in product development in Oxford’s history, Michael’s race leathers sit at the top of a new range of highly spec’d, but sensibly priced leather garments, which join the even larger range of textiles successfully launched during 2014. Michael will also be promoting Oxford Layers, as well as HJC helmets and Alpinestar boots - both brands are exclusively distributed by Oxford in the UK.

In the BSB paddock, Michael will enjoy Oxford’s race support service which prides itself on going the extra mile to look after all of Oxford and HJC’s sponsored riders. He returns to the BSB after a two-year stint in MotoGP with Aprilia, heading up a TYCO BMW assault on the BSB title this year. The former BSB title-contender has history with TAS Racing after being crowned the British Supersport Champion in 2007. He then stepped up to British Superbikes in 2008 in which he qualified for the Showdown in three consecutive seasons.

2015 has to be Michael’s best chance yet of taking the BSB crown. He will remain MotoGP-sharp by continuing to test and develop Aprilia’s MotoGP bikes in between BSB commitments, which will include at least one wild card ride at the British GP.
