BUFFETT BUYS LEADING GERMAN RETAIL CHAIN
February 21 2015.

American business magnate Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway has bought German motorcycle apparel and accessories retailer Detlev Louis Motorrad-Vertriebs GmbH for a little more than 400 million euros (297 million pounds).

Detlev Louis employs more than 1,500 people and has more than 70 outlets in Germany and Austria, serving 25 countries through online stores, producing annual sales of 270 million euros. The company claims to be Europe's number 1 for motorcycle clothing, helmets and accessories, with 30000 products online.

Buffett's investment in the European motorcycle industry shows that he, at least, views it as a profitable area and the financial world will have taken note.
