BCA SUPERSALE SMASHES RECORD
March 10 2015

BCA Peterborough’s Motorcycle Supersale broke records last month, selling nearly 200 bikes for a new benchmark value of £618,000 and smashing the previous record by more than £100,000 in the process.

The sale offered a massive entry of 217 bikes and attracted buyers from all over the country. With a wide selection of street, custom and performance bikes, quads, scooters and mopeds on offer, there really was something for everyone. A total of 190 bikes sold on the day, for a combined turnover of £618,000 that was equivalent to 88% of CAP Clean.

Over 120 customers – both motorcycle trade and private buyers - attended the BCA Peterborough sale to make the most of the bonanza, with a further 176 trade buyers logged-on to bid via BCA Live Online.

Bikes entered by Black Horse Motor Finance Group attracted a lot of interest from buyers, with 133 units sold. BMW Finance stock also performed strongly, with 22 bikes sold. New customers included Moto Novo Finance and Harley World Chesterfield, with both enjoying excellent results at their first BCA sale.

Amongst the day’s star bikes were a selection of 2014 Yamaha 700R quadbikes that realised up to £5,000 each and a Ducati 848 Evo Corse SE 12/12 which sold for an impressive £8,650.

James Rowberry, Motorbike Sales Manager at BCA Peterborough commented “February typically marks the real renaissance of interest in the motorcycle market following the relatively quiet winter months when dealers tend to hold on to their better quality stock until temperatures begin to climb once more.”

“With such a great selection of bikes on offer we attracted a great crowd of buyers - from private bikers to franchised dealers – and bidding was brisk and confident throughout the sale. We were delighted to storm past the previous record turnover – set in February last year – to establish a new benchmark.“

BCA Peterborough holds a monthly motorcycle sale on the last Friday of the month, with special Black Horse Sale Events taking place in May, July and September 2015.
