INDUSTRY CAMPAIGN GATHERS MOMENTUM

The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA), and members representing various key areas of the industry, gathered for a second online meeting today (May 26th) to discuss the next phase of the MCIA’s campaign to kickstart the sector during the Covid-19 lockdown and beyond.


The creative agency Motocom has worked with the MCIA team to produce a web portal – Unlock Your Freedom - extolling the virtues of riding a powered two-wheel, highlighting its many benefits and its coronavirus-busting advantages over public transport. The site will have clear information on how to easily get on a scooter or motorcycle. This will be supported with corresponding artwork for various forms of social media together with a specialist and non-specialist press PR offensive.

The team at Motorcycle News has secured a hefty number of radio slots across Bauer national and regional radio stations such as Absolute, Greatest Hits Radio and Planet Rock. Throughout the month of June, no less than 6000 30-second spots, with a value of over £70,000, have been secured to punch out the powered-two-wheeler message, while Leona Graham, one of Bauers leading DJs, is set to endorse the campaign live on her radio shows.

This innovative cross-industry initiative is due to launch next Wednesday, the 3rd of June. The MCIA is calling for the whole motorcycle industry will get behind it to spread the word and help place powered-two-wheelers stage centre as a real and safer alternative to public transport.
