PTW SALES OUTLETS GET RE-OPENING GREEN LIGHT

May 27th, 2020.

The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) was quick to seek clarity of the Prime Minister’s announcement, earlier this week, with regard to the upcoming opening of certain businesses.

Car showrooms were specifically mentioned as being allowed to open, thanks to their large open spaces, however, motorcycle and scooter outlets were not clearly included in the mix.

The MCIA has been in conversation with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), and can now confirm that the re-opening date for Powered-Two-Wheeler (PTW) sales outlets is Monday, the 1st of June. This instruction applies to businesses in England only as businesses in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales are subject to local regulation.

This positive news coincides perfectly with the launch of the Industry Reboot media campaign (as reported by Motorcycle Trader yesterday), which launches next Wednesday, the 3rd of June.
