PTW TRAINING & TESTING TO RESUME IN ENGLAND

June 26th, 2020.

The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has confirmed that Powered-Two-Wheeler (PTW) training and testing is to resume in England from Saturday the 4th of July.

Announcements from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales on this topic are still to be delivered.

Motorcycle and moped Compulsory Basic Training (CBT), Motorcycle Direct Access Scheme (DAS) training and theory tests will all start again on the 4th of July. Motorcycle and moped module 1 and 2 tests will recommence on the 13th of July. For motorcycle trainers, the DVSA enhanced rider scheme trainer theory test will restart on the 4th of July.

At a time when the Motorcycle Industry Association’s (MCIA) Unlock your Freedom campaign is gathering momentum, this is welcome news for the industry. “This is excellent, if somewhat belated, news for our industry and will no doubt help maintain the recent surge in showroom activity,” said the MCIA’s Policy Marketing & PR Manager Nick Broomhall.
