Electric vehicle manufacturer SUNRA is set to charge the UK powered-two-wheeler market with the introduction of its popular ROBO scooter in two variants.

The ROBO range is already enjoying strong sales in Europe and SUNRA UK has UK-specification models available from stock.

Step-through in design, the ROBO is packed full of features such as removable lithium-ion batteries, full LED lighting, fingerprint keyless start, app connectivity, USB charger and a practical 24 litres of under-seat storage.

The ROBO has a limited top speed of 28mph and a maximum range of 40 miles which, claims the manufacturer, makes this petrol 50cc equivalent perfect for the 16-plus commuter. The ROBO-S is equipped with an additional lithium-ion battery in the floor and delivers a claimed top speed of 50mph, with a maximum range of 84 miles.

ROBO models meet the strict requirements for the UK government's 'Plug-In Motorcycle Grant', which means consumers can enjoy 20 per cent off the recommended retail price. Also included in the cost of the machine is a two-year unlimited mileage warranty on all major components, and a three-year warranty on the lithium-ion battery/batteries.

Thanks to the durable and simple electric drivetrain, the ROBO range is both energy and cost efficient. With zero emissions, zero road tax, zero congestion charge fees and a running cost per mile at just 15 per cent of an equivalent petrol moped, the average city commuter can buy, run, and maintain a SUNRA ROBO for less than the cost of an annual London Underground pass.

Available in two colour options of gloss white or gloss black, the ROBO and ROBO-S are priced at £2,499 and £3,299 respectively, including the 20 per cent government grant discount.

To celebrate its launch in the UK, SUNRA UK is offering a further £100 discount on all ROBO purchases at authorised dealers before the 31st of January 2021, while promotional stocks last.
