Last week, the 96th edition of the International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) took place in France, where Dunlop tyres were chosen by many professional and club riders for this most challenging of off-road endurance events.

Team USA rider Kai Aiello was crowned the winner of the Dunlop Geomax Challenge, a trophy introduced at last year’s event providing support for club level amateur riders racing with Dunlop Geomax EN91 tyres.

The Husqvarna rider finished ahead of his American teammates Anson Maloney and Anthony Ferrante, who finished second and third on their Team USA KTM and GasGas bikes, respectively. Closely behind them were British rider Charlie Chater in fourth and Dutchman Lucas Dolfing who completed the top five.

The American podium finishers continue a winning streak started by their compatriot Cole Martinez who brought the Dunlop Geomax Challenge home to the USA last year.

This year’s race was based in Le Puy-en-Velay, with a route comprising over 1300 km of southern French countryside. The first five days featured long-distance loops on varied terrain, reaching altitudes of over 1400 metres, before the event drew to a close a the short burst of intense action in day six’s cross test. In total, 128 teams from 32 nations finished the ISDE.

Fighting for the top honours, Team USA’s World Trophy team finished a respectable fifth after also choosing Dunlop Geomax EN91 tyres for their four bikes raced by Kailub Russell, Joshua Toth, Layne Michael and Dante Oliveira. Korie Steede finished second in the Women’s World Trophy individual standings, meanwhile.

Luca Davide Andreoni, Marketing Manager, Dunlop Motorcycle Europe: “Congratulations to everyone who took part in and completed this year’s ISDE, which is one of the most challenging and historical races in the world. The high-quality and diverse field of Dunlop Geomax Challenge riders is testament to the incentives on offer and the trusted quality of the Dunlop Geomax EN91 tyre. We are also pleased with the efforts of Team USA in the World Trophy and Women’s World Trophy classification; they put on a great performance to fight amongst the top of the pack.”
