Segway Powersports UK, together with its Welsh distributor Marsh Powersports, is supporting Brian Broekaert, the 2025 FMSQ (Fédération des Motocyclistes de Sentiers du Québec) 4x4 ATV Champion to contest the upcoming Weston Beach Race on a Segway AT10W.Broekaert from Mt.Tremblant, Quebec, Canada, is no stranger to endurance racing. He has raced across the USA in the GNCC (Grand National Cross-Country Series) and NYOA (New York Off Road Association) Championship. He has tackled Le Touquet and Pont-de-Vaux and tried out the Weston Beach Race last year in the solo quad class on a borrowed quad which sadly suffered engine failure.
The Segway AT10 is a high-performing utility/road-legal ATV that features a 999cc 97HP engine, CVT transmission, on-demand 2/4-wheel drive, ABS and dual A-arm suspension; attributes that will stand it in good stead for the annual 3-hour race on the Somerset dunes.
Broekaert’s game plan is to get a clean start, go slow in the early stages, not get stuck and then rely on his endurance background to help him through and aim for a top three finish.
Said Broekaert; “Riding for Segway Powersports at the Weston Beach Race is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the capabilities of its AT10 model. I wanted to ride for Segway because I feel like they have something to prove in motorsport and an interest in the future of the ATV industry. I would rather work with a lesser-known manufacturer that’s interested in progressing the sport, rather than a major company that has no interest in its future.”
The 2025 Weston Beach Race takes place over the weekend of the 3rd to 5th of October, with the Quad race getting underway at 1.00pm on the Saturday. For Segway product information, visit www.segwaypowersports.uk
