DRIVING AND RIDING LESSONS TO RESUME

April 8th, 2021.

With the planned easing of lockdown restrictions in England and Wales the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has advised that driver, rider and vocational lessons and tests will soon restart.

Lessons, and theory tests, will restart on the 12th of April, with tests resuming 10 days later on the 22nd of April.

The DVSA further outlined that, restarting lessons ten days ahead of tests will give instructors the chance to provide pupils with professional refresher training before they take their tests.

Plans are in place to open new temporary theory test centres and increase opening times at the majority of theory test centres.

The Scottish government has announced that driving lessons can potentially restart on the 26th of April, if coronavirus restrictions are lifted in Scotland as proposed. Theory tests will also restart from this date. Practical tests will restart 10 days later on the 6th of May, if restrictions are lifted on the planned date.
