PHASING OUT NEW NONZERO EMISSION L-CATEGORY VEHICLES

May 26th, 2022.

The Motorcycle Industry Association’s (MCIA) policy and public affairs team has been gearing up for publication of the consultation on phasing out new nonzero emission L-Category vehicles.

However, Department for Transport (DfT) has advised that its initial publication date has been postponed until a new date can be agreed with Number 10. Apparently, they are keen that this is given as much attention as possible and want to avoid clashes with other political, and major external events.

Alfie Brierley, the MCIA’s Head of Policy and Public Affairs said; “Though we are still expecting the consultation imminently. The DfT still fully intends on publishing before summer recess (end of July). As such, this postponement will not adversely affect our submission and/or our associated campaigning ahead of, during, and following the publication.”
